VMD 2024 Endorsed Candidates

A life-long resident of the Village, Maria DeRose is running for Trustee to help create positive solutions that will benefit the residents of the Village. She is a non-affiliated voter and looks to be a unifying force between political parties. In her professional life, she is head of North American operations for the Lorenz Life Sciences Group. Maria served as a member of the Village’s Flood Mitigation Committee for 6 years and has been serving on the Board of Ethics prior to becoming an endorsed candidate.

Daniel Kushnick and his wife grew up in the Village and graduated from Mamaroneck High School. They returned to the Village 9 years ago. Daniel is an accomplished senior program coordinator with a passion for sustainable energy. He has served 3 years on the Committee for the Environment and is currently the chair of the committee. He has been closely involved in projects along the Mamaroneck Greenway path to decrease flooding and increase recreational space.

Ellen Silver has lived in the Village with her family since 2006. She has served as chair of the Committee for the Environment and the Climate Smart Communities Task Force and recently joined the Board of the Harbor Island Conservancy. Ellen is concerned about the ongoing risk of flooding, and personally experienced its impact in Hurricane Ida. With an MBA in finance and a 23-year professional career in banking, she plans as Trustee to be a careful steward of the Village's tax revenues.
