Democrats Perform Well in Village Elections

Mamaroneck voters handed Democrats a victory in Tuesday’s Village contests — though just how big a victory remains unknown.

What’s clear is this. Judge Dan Gallagher won re-election by a wide margin. And at least two of our three Trustee candidates will be serving on the Board.

Representatives from the Village of Mamaroneck Democratic Committee attended poll closings Tuesday night at all 15 Village precincts. Their tallies indicated a sweep of all contests for our Democratic team.

But the website of the county Board of Elections is more ambiguous, showing one of our opponents in the lead for one of the three open seats on the Board of Trustees, with data from two Village precincts still missing.

We expect the BOE to report its official tally by Monday.
