Victor Tafur, Keith Waitt, and Leon Potok are running for Village Trustee on a platform of Sensible Development, Environmental Sustainability, and Community Involvement. These fundamental, common-sense principles will move Mamaroneck forward while preserving our special Village quality of life.
Sensible Development maintains the character of our neighborhoods and business districts while improving access and community life. It is takes into account long-term costs and short-term dislocations, and considers environmental impact. We pledge to address development issues with analysis, fiscal responsibility, and practical problem-solving.
Environmental Sustainability is a priority for our Village. We must work to preserve our green spaces and natural resources, and to improve water quality. We are in favor of a holistic approach to development, environmental protection, flooding, and water quality. We will be guided by the Village Comprehensive Plan as well as the revised Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) now in final stages of approval.
Community Involvement means listening to and representing all residents, and encouraging them to take part in Village life. We support our Volunteer Advisory Committees and believe they should have a strong voice in Village government. We advocate transparency and representation in Village affairs, and insist on civility and respect in government. We are proud of our community and committed to helping it be its best.
Victor, Keith, and Leon bring the skills and teamwork to carry out this platform and to lead the Village in a strong, respectful, positive direction.
