AS MAYOR AND TRUSTEE, TOM MURPHY AND NORA LUCAS PLEDGE TO SUPPORT:

     ★ Responsible Development and Effective Enforcement of Village Code

• Development that is consistent with preservation of our neighborhoods and Village character and in strict compliance with zoning laws. 
• Enforcement of Village Code provisions that protect quality of life.
• Responsiveness to concerns of Village residents regarding development and enforcement of zoning laws and Planning Board determinations.
• Update of the Village’s Comprehensive Plan and zoning laws to align community’s vision for future development with our zoning laws.

     ★ Strict Fiscal Oversight (Particularly of Capital Projects and Legal Expenses)

• Competitive bidding on all Village projects to save taxpayer dollars.
• Vigilant oversight of Village contracts.
• Appropriate cost-saving proposals, including the employment of a fulltime Village attorney to reduce costs.

     ★ Transparency and Respectful Dialogue in Governing Process

• No decision-making behind closed doors; insist that deliberations be public.
• Greater transparency by making documents publicly available and by improving responsiveness to FOIL requests.
• Televising Board work sessions so residents can see how all decisions are made.
• Civil and respectful discussion in Board deliberations and with the community.

     ★ Environmental Sustainability

• Preservation of our parks, green spaces, and natural resources
• Addressing threats that diminish our environmental quality of life, including poor water quality, flooding and noise pollution.
• Sustainable development.    

★    Safety/Security (including Addressing Rising Drug Epidemic) 

• Policies that help residents be confident in their safety and security.
• Working with schools, the police and mental health professionals to coordinate Mamaroneck’s response to the opioid epidemic.
